London Stadium - Travel Advice Needed
|
Hi, I’m making a first trip to the LS for the Man City game in the evening on 1 Feb.
How long does it take approximately to get from the stadium back to Stratford mainline after a game (assuming you stay to the end and don’t nip out early because we’re 5-0 down)?
Thanks

Get to South Lawn, over blue bridge if it is open and walk through Carpenters Est get the footbridge at Jupp Rd. If blue bridge is shut get on Carpenters Rd via Loop Rd, basically same route.

Stratford int is a fucking piece of piss. So quick. Via the tube isn't, from what I gather. I've never gone home that way though.

Getting back to Stratford mainline or actually getting on a train?
Getting on a train could be anything up to a hour depending on number of people staying to the end, the gas works being finished and the usage of the Stop and Go boards.

Do you need Stratford Intl or London overground?
Straford Intle takes about 15 minutes, if its London overground walk to Hackney Wick.

Hello mate,
I come out at Bow Road station and go via Fish Island and you can take in a few pre-match specials before you make your way to the ground. Also, if you're not hindered like me with a dodgy back and shin splits, you can walk it in about 10/15 minutes.
Advantages - Little Driver is about 300 yards from Bow Road station, or if you go to Roman Road you can get the best Pie & Mash in London at Kelly's. If you get off at Mile End, you could go to the Coborn Arms for a few light ales beforehand but you probably add 10 minutes extra to get to the stadium than if you were travelling from Bow.
Disadvantages - If you aren't familiar with the area, none of the above will be helpful. But personally I'd avoid Stratford like the plague.

Go via the Carpenters, it's quicker. I don't pay attention to the route so can't direct you.
